Accountable for 63% of Eurofarma’s revenue in the last year, the Medical Prescription Unit stands out as the best performance
in the Brazilian market in generating medication dispensation and sales, according to audits’ data. In this period, this Unit
had 158 products in line and grew 24.31%, with more than 37 million sold units to pharmacies, according to IMS/PMB audit. On
March 2008, the Unit was separated in two business departments, Euro and Farma, and each of them has now a business director
and an independent structure. The initiative is aligned with the organization’s strategic projects and aims to meet the
business challenges and to improve the sales team management and the goals in the products of each department. Both departments
sell trademark medications to medical prescription by the main medical specialties.
The Medical Prescription Unit has a commercial structure comprising publicists, district managers, regional managers, product
managers, coaching managers, marketing managers and business directors, who are accountable for the entire Business Unit and
for the work coordination in order to assure the activities’ performance and maintain results always above the market
evolution. In 2008, Eurofarma increased its sales team by contracting 443 publicists. It also promoted 40 employees to district
managers and 5 district managers to regional managers. 2008 ended with a total of 1658 professionals of field sales force and
49 collaborators in marketing, product, coaching and administrative work management in the Medical Prescription Unit.
